    Could talk about how everyone is on fire (flames…) and hilarious here, or how Michael McKean is hot, or how clever the multiple endings gimmick is even if only one is truly satisfying.

    But most of what I thought about watching this was how I’ve probably spent well over a hundred hours playing Trouble in Terrorist Town on a map that’s a perfect replica of this set. So I knew every corner of the manor and even some of the events despite having never seen this film. It’s weird to have nostalgia for something I’ve never seen but here we are.

    Back to back on pretty whelming musicals. This one stings a bit more though because how does the crew behind Chicago and this cast make a movie so absolutely nothing. Off the bat I could tell something wasn’t quite right so I took a second to check the credits and it’s the same DOP and production designer from Chicago, which were two major strengths of it. It’s just… not as good lol.

    Another strong contender for funniest movie of all time. Waters has improved so much as a filmmaker from Maniacs to here (haven't seen Pink Flamingos in between but I'm sure you can see more evolution there), you can tell he's reveling in that enormous $25,000 budget.

    Unbelievable opening half ruined by a silly twist and a turn I just can’t get behind. Monroe is incredible and so is Underwood but I just cannot gel with Cage once he starts really getting screen time. He’s very effective in short bursts and he does look crazy but it just totally took me out of it in a way the movie never really recovers from.

    Looks amazing from start to finish though, as expected of Oz Perkins. Just sadly…
