Predator 1987
According to Letterboxd this is my 11th watch of this outstanding film during the almost 3 wonderful years on this fantastic site. To be honest that's just not enough! This film deserves more! It is one of my all time favourite films. Everything works so wonderfully together. I'll mention only a few of them here as I know you'll be itching to finish reading so you can reach for your DVD, or Blu Ray or 3D Blu Ray, or 3D…

RoboCop 2 1990
I absolutely love Robocop. The broad shouldered, blue tinted, dome headed super cop is a defining image of my film watching history and an image that still puts a smile on my face and a virtual fist pump in the air for justice for all, an iconic image of all things good in the human race. The original Robocop stands tall as one of my all time favourite films. Robocop 2 is only saved by that fond memory and that…

30 Days of Night 2007
This is one of my most watched Vampire films. David Slade's 30 Days of Night is a fantastic comic book adaption. It's a rewarding little vampire shocker set in some great locations with an effective use of colour and sound that sets a real creepy tone. It's set in Barrow Alaska, the northernmost town in the United States. It's the beginning of 30 days without sunlight and the towns remaining residents are about to be hunted down by a group…

Memento 2000
Directed by the amazing Christopher Nolan and with a superb lead role by Guy Pearce, Memento is a complicated story of a man who can make no new memories since he was injured when he and his wife were attacked. Each scene starts from the confused perspective of Leonard (Pearce) so every new situation he finds himself in, so do we - and we have to piece together the story as if we were in his shoes. We follow this…

Kick-Ass 2010
A superb creation. Matthew Vaughn brings the previously little known comic book "Kick-Ass" to life on the big screen, and boy does he do a fantastic job. Kick-Ass follows the story of Dave Lizewski who's had enough of the bullies and takes matters into his own hands - becoming the wet suit clad hero Kick-Ass. The story is detailed with some excellent links to a huge number of films and comics. We are introduced to a host of great characters…

The Day the Earth Stood Still 2008
Casting Keanu Reeves as a wooden, emotionless, expressionless, dull sounding alien... Genius. What a big waste of time this film was. It's groan-worthy in its story development. I'm not wasting any more words on this. Avoid.
