"I'm letting life hit me until it gets tired. Then I'll hit back. It's a classic rope-a-dope."
fortunately managed to catch a preview of this 4 days before its proper release here in Switzerland. right from the opening shot and the way it was handled I knew I was gonna like this. a lot. La La Land is a magical experience that I definitely won't ever forget. what a musical this is guys and I'm not big into musicals (my friends are trying to get me into them tho so we're working on that) but holy mother of Gandalf this basically broke my heart just by how pure it was. it feels kinda unnecessary to mention all the buzz that's already surrounding this but yeah Emma and Ryan give riveting performances and deserve every bit of the praise they get. the music is grandiose and they both sing and dance and talk with so much heart. the screenplay still has me thinking because there's pain and truth behind it that I've felt myself many times.
Here's to the ones who dream, foolish as they may seem.
