no doubt, this last film to the trilogy is qualitatively just a tad lesser than its predecessors and fails to properly meet the same high standards of exquisite & layered wholesomeness. yet the novelty of its overseas environment compared to the other two set in England helps amp up the adventure components with a lot of fun game-y bits dependent on the gorgeous Peruvian landscape. I’m obsessed with the blinding lense flares from the phone flashlight in that one sequence, like what was going on there? hypnosis technique to make me forget how obvious the killer is? lol. had a blast with this as it plays into all the fun, self-aware slasher horror tropes with plenty of comedy and movie trivia, and in the process goes on to deconstruct a little for commentary’s sake. don’t expect too much from it there though. the cast really brings it all home. I need Dewayne Perkins and his monumental side-eye in everything STAT.
