Watching the credits of this is palpable. You hate that it's truly goodbye for real.
....until Ginpachi-Sensei comes out soon that is :)

I'm back! Off to start the new year with a banger of a film.
Also, real quick, here's my ranking for what I watched for the first time last year: letterboxd.com/mgald245/list/2024-i-guess/
Yeaaahhhhhh unfortunately, don't have it in me to properly give a fuller, thought-out review for this (look, I haven't been using Letterboxd in a while, so let me ease back into it), but I'll just chalk it down to this: especially as it neared the climax, the suspense and…
To close out the year, my final new film is the (mostly) definitive finale to Gintama: the Very Final.
Y'know, it's funny. Finishing the Evangelion Rebuilds in 2022 didn't really give me "post anime depression" or whatever I see people talk about when they finish an anime that means a lot to them.
With Gintama, after spending 9 months watching 300+ episodes, 2 movies, and a handful of OVAs...I think I finally understand.
Gintama isn't perfect, but I think that's…
Heyyyyyy it's ya boiiiiiii
Haven't been using Letterboxd lately. This whole year, really, I haven't been active on here as I used to be. Mostly because I've been too busy binging Gintama. By the way: I'M ALMOST DONE WITH IT. JUST 41 MORE EPISODES AND A MOVIE LEFT!!!
Next year, I seriously wanna try to log new movies more frequently like I used to. Don't worry, I still wanna see y'all around, just wait another 12 days, and then I'll see if I can storm through making some new memories.
Later!
Gloria Swanson's performance stares into your soul. This film felt a few steps away from being straight-up horror. Definitely teeters on suspense.
Also I hate astrology.
Pretty clever mystery film. Though I still don't entirely get the last twist they pulled. Either way, still solid.
I think more than any other film, I thought of my mom the most while watching this. Obvious, sure, but even right down to how Mildred makes you feel a heavy sense of guilt that I think is genetically coded into all mothers.
It was alright. Best part about it was the performances.
Yeah, this is now the third time I'm logging a film that I didn't give my full undivided attention to. Purely for school. Please don't take this review too seriously. Hopefully I'll get back to logging films more properly.
It was alright I guess. Yeah, this is another "obligatory" log for my film studies class that I'm procrastinating, so I apologize for not giving it all my attention. But I dug the mystery element, and there's enough moments of action to keep you entertained.
Definitely quaint and wholesome. Doesn't come off as preachy either, which is a plus.
Idk, it's a perfectly accessible, well-shot (and edited) family film that definitely made me reflect back on my own upbringing (I've learned that an easy way to view a person is to look at their parents). But eh, it didn't break any boundaries either. Would still recommend tho.
Huh. So that's what Ozzy the Opossum referenced in the cinematic masterpiece Over the Hedge.
Another reason I love the Rosebud reveal is because it explained this one reference from an episode of Fetch with Ruff Ruffman (if you're like me who didn't grow up with cable TV in the early 2010s) that I now finally get.
Well, I can finally prove my film fan status by legally saying I watched Citizen Kane. I went into it with minor expectations,…
