Lost isn’t just a show to me—it’s a part of my life. I first discovered it during one of the hardest times I’ve ever faced. Every night or sometimes at noon, I’d sit down to watch 2-3 episodes like clockwork and for those moments, I’d forget all my problems. The island was so magical, so alive, that it completely pulled me into its world.
No one can deny the impact Lost had on television, but for me, its impact went even deeper. I was obsessed in the best way possible—I’d spend hours reading theories, talking about it online, and connecting with other fans. Some of the closest friendships I’ve formed started with a shared love of this show. It’s amazing how art like this can bring people together.
The characters—Jack, Locke, Sawyer, Kate, and so many others—felt like companions during that time. Michael Giacchino’s beautiful, emotional score still resonates with me. And when the series ended, I was heartbroken. I’d gotten so lost in the lore of the island, the Dharma Initiative, and the mysteries that letting it go felt like saying goodbye to a part of myself.
As for the 20th-anniversary documentary, I’m so glad it exists. It feels like a love letter to a show that means the world to so many of us. It honors the legacy of Lost and celebrates the incredible community that grew from it.
I’ll never forget the memories this show gave me, the lessons it taught me, and the magic it brought into my life. Lost will always have a special place in my heart.
