A Real Pain was one of my most anticipated films of 2024 and it didn’t disappoint. I’ve been eager to see Jesse Eisenberg’s evolution as a director ever since his debut. This movie looks bad. The CGI is horrible, visually it’s super bland, and the music is just boring. The script? Basically a rehash of the first one with nothing new to say. Paul Mescal disappointed me here—his American accent felt weird, and maybe it’s the weak script or just the fact that no one can match the charisma Russell Crowe had. Normally, I like Mescal, but this just didn’t work.

Oppenheimer is the most mature and accomplished Nolan film to date. I watched the first day's show, and once I left the theater, all I could think was, "How did Nolan make this film?"
