"here's to the ones who dream, foolish as they may seem"

the last time I saw this film was over a year ago, so I figured it was about time for a rewatch. I've seen people talk about having a film that made them fall in love with cinema, and I realized a while ago that this is that film for me. I remember seeing it in theaters for the first time and not being able to stop thinking about it for weeks. I always liked watching movies but there was nothing that had affected me as much as la la land did before. I've never written a proper review for this film, there's something special and magical about it that I don't quite know how to put into words.

whenever I rewatch this film I discover some new details, another aspect of it catches my attention or I just fall in love with it all over again. damien chazelle's directing is so impressive, every scene feels like it was shot perfectly. don't even get me started on the soundtrack, it's so beautiful and makes you feel all the emotions that this film brings much more intensely. emma stone and ryan gosling's chemistry is amazing, which wasn't surprising but definitely needed in a film like this. emma's performance stands out to me, I think the audition scene is one of the most moving performances I've ever seen. I could go on and on about this film, but what it comes down to is that this film kind of changed my life and sparked my love for cinema. for that I'll always be thankful :')
