Barbenheimer - Main Course - Oppenheimer
Yet to be seen if this is Nolan's masterpiece, time will tell but Oppenheimer tells a technically complex non-linear story in an impressively clear way. It's an urgent whirlwind portraying scientific exploration and the pursuit of results regardless of their potential application, in this case, results that led to the greatest American wartime atrocity and the personal/political fallout that followed. There's a brief image repeated a few times showing Earth's atmosphere on fire which in context is one of the most chilling visuals I've ever seen.
