snow may have gotten rid of every trace of lucy gray — but her music was never forgotten. the thing that was so important to her, so quintessential to her as a character and as a human being, remained. and then 64 years later, katniss, the girl from 12 who eventually brings his downfall, sings those same very songs.
“are you, are you comin’ to the tree?”
ps. the cast is literally so perfect are u KIDDING ME <3 so book accurate i can’t believe it.

first cinema trip of 2023 lets goooo <3
U know what, there’s actually nothing better than big musical numbers. opening with ‘miracle’ like that, woahhh. i was on board immediately. it’s actually insane to me how talented the kids are, all the dance numbers like ‘bruce’ and ‘revolting children’ were SPECTACULAR ✨ i laughed at quite literally everything emma thompson did, she was delightfully silly (and moderately terrifying) while lashana lynch was so lovely and wonderful. just really enjoyed myself <3

i’m so gutted that i didn’t love this ☹️ that might be due to the people sitting in front of us that were just talking & laughing at the most inappropriate times??? i don’t know. i think a rewatch is needed. maybe i’ll love it then, who knows

this was so chaotic and fun and so very beautiful (all the colours!!!!) anya taylor-joy was brilliant and all the outfits were so pretty and even though there was quite a lot going on (and i get confused so easily) it was so enjoyable. one of my favourite films i’ve watched in a while.

this musical doesn’t have one bad song i swear.... so i’ve seen kinky boots twice on stage, this technically being the third round watching it and it was pretty odd watching it from all the different (weird) angles but still a good time!
it’s the typical of musical where once it’s finished you want to go out and do something! follow your dream! maybe that’s just me. but that’s how i feel right now. shame i’m too big of a procrastinator to do anything.
also the way everybody say yeah is performed, quite frankly my favourite thing ever!!!
