i absolutely adored this but i couldn’t stop thinking about the fact that my grandmother had seen it before me AND on the big screen all because her and a friend were supposed to be seeing allelujah (2022) but they walked into the wrong screening and stayed to watch this instead.

wicked was the first musical that really got me into musicals (and that one tv show called any dream will do about people auditioning to be the next joseph in joseph and the amazing technicolor dreamcoat) and it has been one of my favourites since.

elliott heffernan’s first performance and he is utterly brilliant, alongside saoirse ronan who is, as always, remarkable. between blitz and the outrun, i believe 2024 has given us two of her best performances.
