Watched this on my birthday because I deserve this gift of a movie. This is The Master with Phoenix and Hoffman but it’s Gosling and Crowe putting in decade-best performances (maybe my favourite for both.) These nice fellows are just too funny and adorable together, and Angourie Rice demands your attention over both of them at times. Pinky swear.
The Nice Guys is a lot to do with how the younger generation knows better than the older, and how the older refuses to see that. Gosling’s Holland March is reminded throughout that his daughter is a better person than he is, and that humility is what distinguishes him from The Mean Guys.
