Gosh, this such a fun movie to watch on a Friday night!
I've been wanting to watch The Nice Guys again for a while now, and I'm so glad I did! The humor was fantastic for me; most, if not every joke, made me laugh out loud, mostly because of Ryan Gosling as Holland March and Russell Crowe as Jackson Healy, who both absolutely kill it in this movie. They're AMAZING together, and their characters are a blast. They're both different, but have a similar goal: simply try to be better, after years and years of being pretty terrible people. I'm actually super impressed how the movie approached that as well, it's super comedic and heartfelt at the same time. Angourie Rice as Holly was hilarious and really sweet as well.
The mystery the story revolves around was also really intriguing, and the way Holland and Jackson investigate it just makes the movie even funnier (really, they're both idiots, and the movie makes fun of them for that the entire time lmao). There's a pretty big character introduced later in the story, and the moment they appeared, the mystery got super predictable for me, but the rest of the movie is so good I can easily ignore that, it didn't make the movie less enjoyable for me at all.
I know this movie wasn't that succesful finantially, so the chances for a sequel are slim to none, especially now that it's been six years, but gosh, I would LOVE to see Holland and Jackson again. Hope it happens some day :)
