Watched in premium large format (IMAX?) with Dolby sound. Got carded for this too lmao. A stacked cast that I would’ve loved to see more of, but there’s no such thing as a small part, only small actors. And there were no small actors here! The performances from Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, and RDJ were especially outstanding. Alden Ehrenreich was a surprise performance that I greatly enjoyed and thought he did a great job! Very dialogue heavy, but the script is tight and never drags. The score was loud and intense and I loved every second of it.
The first half of the movie was very fast and felt more like I was watching a montage. While this didn’t really muddle the pacing much in any significant way, I feel maybe there was a better way to relay this contextual info without it seeming too much like a montage. By the second half of the film, the pacing evens itself out, and the film becomes incredibly more gripping and nerve-wracking up until the very end. So many strong amazingly powerful and horrifying moments heightened by stunning music, editing, and direction. Definitely warrants a second viewing.
