Viewed at the Austin Film Festival.
Shaman was an interesting subversion of religious horror, and the expression of Ecuadorian culture and their religious beliefs was beautiful to see, especially with an anti-colonial mindset. Most of the jump scares and horror effects didn't really do it for me, but other moments were genuinely frightening. It was cool/strange to see people who look like my family in a horror movie and I think it made it more personal when they came to harm.
Also, someone fainted at the showing I was at. So that was crazy.

Party People 2024
Saw at the Austin Film Festival and had a total blast!
The dialogue in this movie is top notch, and not only were the characters hilarious but they felt so real. Overall it was a really fun watch with some seriously deep introspective moments as well.
Plus, I banged my head on the restroom door right in front of the actor who played Clark so I have a new most embarrassing moment now.

This is the feel-good movie gold, and my depressed ass will be watching it on repeat. -
