Upon a rewatch, I can undoubtedly say that Oppenheimer is one of the greatest movies ever made. Christopher Nolan is one of my favourite directors and this is his definite masterpiece.
All the Oscars this movie got, it deserved every one of them. Even with an ensemble cast, all the actors were impeccable in the roles they were given. Cilian Murphy gave one of the best performances of the decade as Robert Oppenheimer, his eyes does an amazing job in conveying things. Robert Downey Jr gave an equally amazing performance as Lewis Strauss, and he shows how great he can play an antagonistic role. My appreciation for Emily Blunt's performance has increased after this rewatch. She didn't have as big of a role as Murphy or RDJ, but with the time she was given, she delivered an amazing performance.
Ludwig Goransson's music really elevates the movie. Like I don't understand every detail about the arguments and hearings shown throughout the movie, but through his music, I could grasp the feel and the tension of the scene. "Can you hear the music" is one of the best pieces of music I've ever heard. The cinematography is stellar, the movie is stunning to look at. I still love the black and white scenes. Also, it manages different aspect ratios very well. The pacing is one of the best things about the movie. It's 3 hours with a lot of talking and only one explosion but it's still one of the most engaging movies I've seen. I admire the structure of the screenplay.
Overall, Oppenheimer is a masterpiece that will be remembered as a cult classic for years to come.
