This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Every time a naked old lady appears in a horror movie, I feel like I’m being rickrolled.
-
There are 20 pretty good minutes in here (if you've seen it you know what they are), nicely toying with the found-footage thing. But getting to them is an incredible slog in the company of a very boring, frequently stupid couple, and toyed-with or not, I'm tired of the format.
A personal note: it's not this movie's fault, but films about campers in trouble rarely do much for me because I think camping is an intrinsically bad idea and you get what you deserve for going outside.
-
So either way the wedding is off.
See I believe in the existence of everything devil, aliens, trolls, bigfoot, etc... All of them, I mean come on Amy Schumer exists right, let that sink in. So if you try hard enough to look for these things you will get to see them not because the cosmos is working in your favour but because the cosmos has decided that it's your time to get fucked.
This is what this movie is about a guy's journey to get fucked but unfortunately, his girlfriend is a part of it.
Now even though it's hardly an hour-long flick, it should not have been more than a 30mins long short-film. Because nothing happens till the…

This movie is at 81% on Rotten Tomatoes.
It's also on some "best found footage movies" lists.
My apparently controversial opinion is that it's really bad.
-
Starts off as a road trip for this adventurous young couple whom are heading out to the infamous Patterson–Gimlin's site where actual camera footage of Bigfoot took place long ago! Some colorful people and colorful humor to be had along the way!
It is not until the last act that we begin to feel the hair on the back of our necks raise as the mounting tension becomes very real for us and the unfortunate couple! The tent scene at night was claustrophobic! Not sure how I'd react if it had been me cringing with fear in the tent.. either I'd freeze like a deer in headlights or the overwhelming urge to run would overpower me and I'd do my…

Blair Witch Project for Bigfoot fans except it’s boring and there’s no Bigfoot just a naked old lady

Jim plans to shoot a documentary about Bigfoot and his girlfriend Kelly volunteers to film it so the two travel to the small town of Willow Creek. The famed Roger Patterson footage of the creature was filmed in the woods around there as well as countless sightings, turning it into the Bigfoot version of what Roswell, New Mexico is for aliens. After arriving they make their way into the woods to stay the night and hopefully catch some footage. They were never found but their camera was some time later and it documents their night of sheer terror.
My blurb is giving this film too much credit. It makes this pile sound interesting.
I am one of those horror fans…

There’s a Squatch in These Woods...
This may be higher than it actually deserves, but the 18-minute tent scene is pretty great and unnerving.
-
That intense tent scene elevates this above the usual movie of this sort.
Also, that ending left me with a serious case of the heebie jeebies.
And can you love a movie just for its scenery? I appreciated the northern Californian wilderness and all its picturesque beauty.
Good one, Bobcat!

Well, hi there.
Detective Wilden from Pretty Little Liars finally found a same-aged girlfriend and now, instead of chasing the Liars, he's hunting down Bigfoot. Fun times!
Alexie Gilmore and Bryce Johnson as couple Kelly and Jim are likeable enough to get hooked into the story.
The people they interview feel authentic enough to attempt to suspend my disbelief that it's not real footage.
Alright, so seeing Bryce's 🍆 was definitely not on my Bingo Card! Oh well.
This was surprisingly is fun and it helps that it's rather short. The final minutes were pretty great - lowkey hilarious for one thing but also creepy. It's got a lot of Blair Witch Project vibes so as a die-hard fan of TBWP you may hate this. (or love?)
A decent addition to the Sasquatch Cinematic Universe. I'd recommend watching with headphones. 🏕

Do you remember the Blair Witch Project? Bobcat Goldthwait remembers.
-
A found footage film, from Bobcat Goldthwait (Hot to Trot) about two kids going into the woods looking for Bigfoot and finding something scary...that is Bigfoot.
Who isn't scary at all.
Bigfoot is never scary.
There is no classic horror story featuring Bigfoot as a villain. It doesn't exist. Won't ever exist. Why?
Bigfoot is stupid.
I feel like I'm in Mean Girls here: "Stop trying to make Bigfoot happen. Bigfoot will never happen."
See also: Krampus.
What is scary? The extended 'uncut' shot of the kids inside their tent reacting to sound effects for 20 minutes getting glowing reviews from horror movie websites.
