  I am definitely overrating this movie, but what can I say? I've watched a lot of very sentimental faith-based drama films, but none of them brought me to tears as this one did. The fact that the story is largely based on real life makes it even more incredible. That some random people randomly find out about your problems and go not only one but eleven extra miles to help you is mind blowing, especially considering this would be almost impossible to happen nowadays. But it's also incredibly inspiring.

  Driven by their devout Christianity, the Erwin brothers — Andrew and Jon — have never been shy about the agenda behind their work. “Our mission,” it says on their website, “is simply to spread the Gospel further than it’s ever been using film as the medium,” and that mission has seen their Kingdom Story Company evolve into one of the biggest forces in America’s burgeoning “faith-based” sub-genre.

  In light of the brothers’ stated purpose, however, it’s strange that they’ve responded to their success by making increasingly secular movies.   CRIED THROUGH THE ENTIRE MOVIE!

  While it does feature some talk about faith and God, Ordinary Angels is way more of a faith in humanity film which may explain it's weak box office. Did the Christian crowd just not support it? If so that's a shame because it's way better than the vast majority of the cheaply made badly acted faith based crap they often show up in droves for.

  Hilary Swank is really good but it's also the kind of role I feel like I've seen a dozen other Hollywood actresses play hoping for an Oscar. (There will be no Oscar)

  -I met this woman. She’s a mess.

  That, folks, is how you can make me cry. It’s encouraging when one person helps one another to make a difference in their lives. But it becomes inspirational when the local supports come to the rescue. I have a soft spot for extreme generosity and Ordinary Angels hit that mark flawlessly.
