Thematically provocative and finely directed.
A Different Man is subject to a singular condition: self-acceptance, which I know seems odd to say considering how hard it must be to live with neurofibromatosis type 1, but the movie navigates so effortlessly (and so obsessively) between being a realistic drama and a Cronenberg's configuration, that by the end it becomes the most logical reasoning of not to be defined by its handicap.
