Flight 7500 departs Los Angeles International Airport bound for Tokyo. As the overnight flight makes its way over the Pacific Ocean during its ten-hour course, the passengers encounter what appears to be a supernatural force in the cabin.

If you have ever wanted to see Takashi Shimizu direct a 1970's CBS TV Movie Of The Week Airplane Disaster Horror do I have good news for you! It totally happened, circa 2014! Ryan Kwanten is cast in such the Bill Shatner role that he even at one point watches the Bill Shatner Twilight Zone Airline Disaster episode in apparent homage even though this is way more like The Horror At 37,000 Feet rather than The Nightmare At 20,000 Feet and believe me that makes all the difference. nothing about this made any sense and that ending just feels like something they decided to throw in there when they realized what a piece of shit they were making
Okay. I thought I guessed the twists in the first ten minutes then they started adding some doll bullshit and I was excited for something stupidly special.
Nope. Predictable and not even funny bad. Just plain bad bad. The only thing I enjoyed was some common Japanese horror scares and aesthetics blended with the more western horror elements. Not worth the watch.
I would D.B. Cooper out of this flight of chatty dingdongs so goddamn fast. I don't care that it's over the Pacific; I'm kicking that emergency exit open at thirty-thousand and yeetin myself the fuck out.
And I watched this exciting film again. It was cast perfectly! Each passenger was acted great. That’s the hook! I have been on various flights with each one of these stereotyped passenger! Enjoy a littler horror in the air!
There's a cool haunted or cursed airplane movie to be made from one of the half-dozen half-baked ideas it introduces, but Flight 7500 chooses the goofiest one with barely enough runtime left to wrap things up coherently. If I remember correctly, the script was in development hell for a few years and this final product feels like someone marked the wrong draft for production. Cool Japanese death doll though.
Ryan Kwanten watching "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet" reminds me of the time I tuned into Final Destination on a flight.
Takeshi Shimizu insults Americans by making them act American
B-movie looking plane horror that only caught my attention after I found out Shimizu had directed it. A loaded airliner on its way to Japan encounters something disturbing during flight.
They hammer home the annoying passenger trope with a handful of characters that form the embodiment of the worst type of people. From the get-go, I was pretty much thinking, yeah; they're definitely gonna die!
Even after the thing happens, I still wasn't quite sure what to expect. There were heaps of 'unfinished' moments that seemed like a combination of bad edits or lack of budget, but in terms of the overall story, they absolutely made sense.
Surprisingly better than I had expected, given the current 2.0 LB average. Definitely my kind of trash!
Daily Horror Scavenger Hunt 12 – June 2019 Day 29. Watch some Airplane horror. A movie that takes place mostly on an airplane.
This really spends a little too much time on the character's personal lives, to the point that the "scary" stuff feels rushed and crammed into the last 20 minutes. That being said, I was lying on my couch and it didn't really strain my brain too much. This was total comfort food in the form of a movie. No big surprises, but also pretty painless to watch. Plus I really like a good chunk of the cast (Scout!!!) and I hear the director has made other well regarded movies.
