I really love films where women are given a space to be shitty, because sometimes women are shitty, because women are human, and our flaws are feminist as much as anything else. That's it. That's my review. Except that I wanted Rebel Wilson to get more time to be a fully fleshed out fat woman who is marrying a conventionally attractive man because yes, fat women exist and have sex drives and romantic lives and fuck you if you think they don't.
Black comedy
Lizzy Caplan
Adam Scott
- These are a few of my favorite things.
Even though I can understand why people hate this so much, I don't think it's fair to compare it to Bridesmaids. Sure, both films have similar plots but they have wildly different intentions and varying levels of wit. I don't think Bachelorette is trying to make you feel the warm and fuzzies and it certainly doesn't go for widespread appeal. Instead, it seems like they are trying to appeal to people who have a dark sense of humor (HELLO: that's me) and may see a little bit of themselves in these hateful, despicable characters (Gena could be my skinny, white twin). So yeah... I love this. There isn't a ton of evidence to suggest it's a great film, but I love it.
i do enjoy a shitty comedy about women being absolutely mean and terrible, it’s just a guilty pleasure to ME.
"Well, I like you too. But I don't know what to do when I'm around somebody I like, except to sleep with them or get really drunk."
I loved Katie. A relatable wreck of a human being. 🥃🍷🍺😬
Had a lot of fun with this one🤪. I love movies where women are mean-spirited assholes😈. Very comforting. It's kinda like coked up 'Bridesmaids'.❄️👃🏻
The third act especially was a great farce😜. Cast is hot too🔥.
can you be the worst person in the world but serve so much cunt that it doesn’t matter? as exhibited by kirsten dunst’s character in this film, the answer is a resounding yes.
i wish i was kirsten dunst in this movie, getting called a 'cunt' by james marsden whilst being fucked against a bathroom wall
Controversial opinion but this is the best bachelorette/bridal comedy and that's what happens when women make movies about women.
