It took me 28 years to watch this movie because my dad wrote and directed it and I knew there were a lot of threesomes, but I'm glad I finally watched it because 1) I got to see David Duchovny with a mullet and 2) that shit was dark and moving as fuck.
The shot where a football game on the jail TV turns into the angel gabriel playing his trumpet and it's framed through the cell bars??? *chef's kiss*
EDIT: IT TURNS OUT THOSE ARE MY DAD'S HANDS PLAYING TRUMPET AS THE ANGEL GABRIEL LMFAOOOOO

Might seem like a weird criticism of this type of horror movie, but I just found this so unpleasant?? The first half I was thinking “Oy, very r/atheism.” By the second half I realized that was by design, but that doesn’t change the fact that watching HERETIC means suffering through nearly 2 hours of r/atheism bullshit.
I will say they GOT me with the “why aren’t there more Jews” bit because when Hugh Grant first asked the question, I (a Jew)…
