i really needed to hold the space for this film before writing this review

so faithfully adapted! when the first notes of no one mourns the wicked started, i was fully transported to the theatre watching this for the first time
the wizard and i was just devastatingly beautiful, elphie sounds so hopeful and the foreshadowing KILLS me, cynthia absolutely killed it ✨

"someday there'll be a celebration throughout oz, that's all do to, with meeeeeeeeeeeeEeEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"

ari did so so so well with gahlinda, she really did take such good care of her. her vocals in no one mourns the wicked !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and the subtly of some of her facial expressions and mannerisms you would only pick up if you know what's to come SHES INCREDIBLE 🌸😭

what really hooks me (and why i'm so glad we now have a film version bc i can't see from all the way at the back in the theatre) is the emotion cynthia conveys just through her eyes! ariana is the heart and cynthia is the soul

seeing glinda and elphie dance together made my heart ache, this was when the tears started (and didn't really stop) before i was sobbing through defying gravity LIKE ARE YOU KIDDING IT SOUNDED SO FULL AND CYNTHIA WAS FUCKING INCREDIBLE ARE YEW KIDDING RHWOUBOFIEWN
