The Conjuring Cinematic Universe - Film 5
When an evil entity is released at the remote Saint Cartha's monastery, Father Burke and Sister Irene are sent to investigate. Along the way they meet a guide named Frenchie and the three travel together to the old castle, inhabited only by nuns. When they arrive they learn about the ancient evil kept on those grounds and the struggle to contain it.
I am not ashamed to admit Taissa Farmiga is my celebrity crush, so even if this film was as bad as people claim I wouldn't have minded much. Luckily those people were wrong and although this isn't a great film it's certainly not awful either. I like horror films that follow the Christian / Catholic idea of good and evil and the priest's role as a warrior of faith so I'm glad they didn't use it to mock or jest like many modern horror films do. Anything in The Conjuring Universe is a must see for me and this was no exception. This film has a direct tie into the first two Conjuring films and it's done in satisfying fashion. Definitely worth a one time watch.
