Utterly fantastic. From the opening logos I knew I was in for something special. The way this film reinvents the genre frame by frame is nothing short of monumental. The streets of New York and the colourful characters who walk them feel so alive, vibrant, and free. In a crowded genre of films based on comic books, this feels like one of the first true Comic Book Films I’ve ever seen. This is what people like Stan Lee saw in their heads when they put pencil to paper so many years ago. I want to stand up and cheer for the people who made this movie the exciting, funny, diverse, and thematically rich experience it is. Gets a little overwhelming by the third act, but it never loses its spark. Best one since the best one (Spider-Man 2, obviously).
This is the Last Jedi of the Spider-Man universe. Think about it.
