I admit that it’s charming that the internet used their powers for good and that is memeing Nic Cage into finally getting his dream role and he is having the time of his life in this movie, unfortunately it came at a time where studio comedies bright idea is completely basing themselves in self-aware humor (less than 10 minutes in there’s a “well that just happened” joke). I do appreciate Universal for actually doing interesting projects with their monster movies…

Nic Cage in a disaster movie got me hooting and hollering goddamn, that train sequence was cool as hell.

Just a fascinating exercise in restraint for The Cage, but I can’t help but feel a bit underwhelmed when the rest of the movie is kinda boring. It’s alright for what it is, FNAF vs. Mute Cage but if you told me in a week from now there’s other characters in this movie I would probably not believe you.
