💥💥💥💥💥 PREPARE FOR EXPLOSIONS 💥💥💥💥💥
When they said that this film has lots of dialogue, they are right. But I didn’t expect the film to have two different stories. So I wasn’t prepared and kind of confused while watching it. Oppenheimer has two stories that tell back-to-back. The first is about his life as you would expect from any biopic. The last is about his security hearing. But, because I didn’t know about it, It feels like a twist when they tell the person who give Borden files about Oppenheimer. So I don’t know If I should suggest you guys read about the latter or not.
Now to the fun part. As many of you would expect. Oppenheimer will have explosions. But oh my god… I didn’t expect it would be that many. Every time it happens, because the sound is very loud, not only your seat will be shaking, but also your bones. And you won't know when it occurs so it feels like a jumpscare 😂
Oppenheimer feels like I was taught about history, physics, and a bit of politics. As someone who doesn't understand how the law of physics works, I just nodded throughout it. "Oh, okay" "So that's how it works". It kind of resemblance to what I had with TÁR. It also dives into the psychological aspect of Oppenheimer especially after two hours of runtime because that's when the bomb trial occurred. And Cillian Murphy did it so well to express the range of the emotions of a man that feels guilty to bring an unimaginable catastrophe.
Being a Nolan film, Oppenheimer is technically impressive. The performances are also great. Because it has a cast full of known actors, you will see a lot of familiar faces.
Overall, accurately or not, I really enjoyed it. The way Nolan tells the story from a biographical drama to a political thriller is great. It's well-paced but you need to focus a lot on it. If you want to watch Oppenheimer, watch it on the biggest screen and the best sound system possible. What an experience.
