| The short version: Tim Curry is a rogue computer program, hellbent on ruling cyberspace (and hushes the part about genocide on the “meat things”). With the artistic help of prepubescent prancing would-be Goth Malcolm, he turns the local metrosexual’s cool kaiju drawing into megavirus monsters! Sadly, Mrs. Doubtfire 's son (or Blossom’s brother's real life brother if you are into that) along with his friends (one of which is a bestie of Parker Lewis Can't Lose who had a…

Death Bed: The Bed That Eats 1977
Hooptober X #18 {Bed, Death & Beyond! Bonus} ~Wednesday Weirdness 8~
| In short: A piece of demonic furniture goes through trauma processing, trailing a slew of yellow tinted froth-forward fatalities.
This place looks clean for being abandoned for so long. I hope there’s not a maniac around.
| In slightly less short: Having your slumber interrupted by a couple rudely copulating on top of you always makes for an awkward awakening. And that’s exactly how this bed's lengthy nap gets…

Speak No Evil 2024
| In short: WTF Amazon Prime?! Opening with trigger warnings about language, violence and sexual content but not one word about Cotton Eyed Joe? That's irresponsible, bordering on a hate crime to my ears!
| This movie teaches us: Responsible parenting means making sure your minor has a syringe full of ketamine on their person at all times, in case of emergency.
| Verdict: The James McAvoy leg show.

On the Silver Globe 1988
~>Wednesday Weirdness 73<~
| In short: When making Star Wars (1976-1977), George Lucas' directorial mantra was "erm, faster and more intense."When making The Silver Globe (1976…-1988) Andrzej Żuławski's directorial mantra must have been "Faster, more intense, more biblical and psychotic!"
| In slightly less short: After the disclaimer which accounts for the 20% portion of the film that’s missing (which he narrates over kinetic footage of late 1980’s Poland), Żuławski wastes no time and plunges the audience straight into…

Lynch/Oz 2022
Treading (yellow brick) water.
The John Waters' addition was entertaining, but there's also a video essay (of which I blissfully forgot the author) that claims that an episode of Twin Peaks made his indoor cat murder a bird on the living room floor, and when he watched the episode again, his dad died...
I couldn't hear the next sentence over the sound collective, violent eyer-rolling.Zero new insights to be found, and the presentation is below the bulk of video essays you could find on YouTube.
Skipable is probably the most diplomatic way to put it. Cool poster though.
