Mr. Akagi is the father of Ryan Akagi and husband of Mrs. Akagi. He has at least three sons and two daughters.

When Ryan was born, he and his wife befriended another couple, the Parks.
When Ryan graduated high school Mr. Akagi gave him his van so he could tour across the country. Ryan eventually gives up that van to one of his ex-girlfriends.
