What is career, educational and vocational guidance and counselling?Educational and vocational guidance and career counselling services assists people with learning and work decisions across the lifespan as well as conceptualising and understanding their work lives and helps them to strengthen their personal agency by developing skills, knowledge, attitudes and values to manage their careers. Through the world, career, educational and vocational guidance is known by many terms including career development, career education, career counselling, career psychology, vocational psychology, and career coaching. Career, educational and vocational guidance is conducted in a range of settings including schools, universities, technical colleges, public employment services, business and industry, and private through services offered face to face or through digital communication technologies.
