と誘われて、教えてもらって知ったんだけど、すごいなこれ。

  • 写真とか。
  • 研究テーマなど。これ、興味のあるテーマと本職テーマの区別ないのかな？
  • 登録の目的、「何をお探しですか」的な項目もある。
    • 「discussion partner」とか「collaboration partner」とか「mentor」みたいな。

コンテンツいろいろ。

    • 各コンテンツが、iGoogleみたくぐりぐり動かせます。Custumizeできるそうな。

  • Groups
    • 研究テーマや学問領域ごとにいろいろ用意されている。Theoretical ChemistryとかSimulation and ModelingとかProtein Biophysicsに参加しておいた。

  • Semantic Relations
    • 僕の研究分野に関連する論文をPubMedからひっぱってきてオススメしてくれる。
    • 似たような研究してるメンバーを紹介してくれる。

  • バーチャルな学会も計画中らしい。
    • Virtual conferencing: Enabling researchers to give presentations in combination with a discussion via video.

競合的なサイトもいろいろあるけど、これは完成度すごいな、とおもった。
視覚的な要素や第一印象UIは大事だな。ここはokで、次は実効性、最後に継続性*1だが、まだわからん。知り合い増やせばいいのかな。とりあえずバイオインフォなdiscussionに参加してみるとか。


バイオに限らず、物理や化学や文学(!?)、コンピュータサイエンスなんかにも細かい研究テーマが用意されているので、マイナーな話題が通じる知り合いが世界で探せるかもしれませんね。
