Rakuten's Approach
The Rakuten IT School NEXT program invited high school students from across Japan to pitch technology-driven ideas and action plans for the future of their local communities. Held in 2019, it was an updated version of the Rakuten IT School program.
About Rakuten IT School NEXT
Representing the next generation, high school students formed teams with Rakuten employees and local residents for three-day workshops, during which they designed the future of their local communities, proposing technology-driven ideas for the year 2030. These ideas were tested and refined before being presented at their respective schools and at a final presentation in Tokyo.
