We are hiring new engineering graduates for entry-level positions throughout the year.
Therefore, qualification requirements may differ depending on the position. Please check the qualifications for each position and the process flow for hiring new engineering graduates.

“Entry level” refers to inexperienced new graduates and past graduates with few work experience.

If you have less than 3 years of work experience, you may apply for a new graduate / entry-level position.

For detailed application criteria, please check “New Graduate Recruiting” and “Mid-Career Recruiting” respectively.

There are no restrictions on applications, but mid-career hires will be asked about their work experience and expertise. Those who are still in school, but have sufficient work experience through employment or long-term internships, can apply for mid-career positions.

You may apply to both positions. During the registration process, you will be asked to select the type of job(s) you are interested in.

Please note that under no circumstance will we accept retakes of the test after it has been completed. Please ensure you have a stable connection status and browser before taking the test.

The Personal Page submission form has a link to the Web Test page. Please access the Web Test page from there and take the test.

You will be contacted after passing the document screening.

Since the test is administered online, you may take it anywhere with a stable internet connection.

The test will take about one hour to complete, and you can choose from among the following programming languages. (May differ depending on the test)

We offer a week long short-term internship and 1 month or more long-term internship. Please see this page for available internship opportunities.

It will not affect the results of the selection process. These events will help you deepen your understanding of our company. We hope that you can attend these events as much as possible since they will provide useful information, but please note that the event dates are limited. You will be notified once the date is confirmed on this page.

It does not matter if the test score has expired. Upload your scores and certificates from the Personal Page.

Selection results are determined comprehensively, not solely based on TOEIC score. However, you are required to obtain a score of 800 by the time you join the company.

The TOEIC test score update form will be displayed on the Personal Page. Please upload it from there.

Standard work hours: 9:00-17:30
Fixed working hours are 7.5 hours with a 1-hour break.

*Work hours on days with a Rakuten Group morning meeting are from 8:00-16:30.

*The discretionary labor system may be applied to professional work and management-related work.

*Some departments may offer flextime.

Core hours: 11:00-15:00 (8:00-12:00 on days when morning meetings are held)

In addition to within the Tokyo headquarters, transferring to domestic and overseas branches is possible.

The content of one’s work varies across departments, but there is no official dress code.

For those in sales and other positions that involve contact with people outside the company, many people wear business casual attire or suits as appropriate.

We hold fun events such as the year-end party, watching baseball games, and various social gatherings.

In addition, we also sponsor various clubs (futsal, baseball, golf, etc.) where people of all ages, nationalities, and departments can interact.

We have the necessary systems in place to help women advance their careers, such as maternity and parental leave, with highly skilled people, regardless of gender, are active throughout the company.

The frequency of using English in actual work may vary among departments, but since English is our official language, official meetings（e.g. Asakai, department-wide regular meetings）are facilitated in English using English documents.

Additionally, since about 20% of the entire Rakuten Group and about 50% of engineering departments consist of non-Japanese employees, there are many occasions where English is required.

Our personnel system operates with seven levels of grade based on ability.

Each training course is conducted according to the grade of each employee.

Especially in new graduate training conducted immediately after joining, a wide range of contents including business manners and skills and tech training are covered. For details, please check “Career Development”.

In addition, OJT (on-the-job training), study sessions by department, and attendance at external events provide an environment where employees can acquire the necessary skills.

There are job preference questionnaires and internal recruitment systems, with employees occasionally transferring between various divisions.

Twice each year (June and December), we check employee work performance and, based on the results, set individual salaries and performance bonuses for the first six months after the evaluation.

Employees who have worked more than 80% of their working days are granted annual leave according to their number of years of employment. In the fist year of employment, 5 days of paid vacation are granted after 3 months (including the trial period) of employment, after which, if you work continuously for another 3 months, you will be granted an additional 5 days. (A total of 10 days will be granted in the first year)
