Arthur Christopher Orme Plummer, nado en Toronto (Ontario) o 13 de decembro de 1929 e finado en Weston (Connecticut) o 5 de febreiro de 2021,^[1] foi un actor canadense de cinema, televisión e teatro.

Traxectoria

Plummer naceu en Toronto e criouse en Senneville, Quebec. Debutou no cinema en Stage Struck (1958), de Sidney Lumet, e fíxose especialmente coñecido entre o público pola súa interpretación do capitán Georg von Trapp no filme musical Sorrisos e lágrimas (1965) xunto a Julie Andrews.^[2]

Durante a súa carreira recibiu varios premios, incluídos o Óscar ao mellor actor secundario, dous premios Emmy, dous premios Tony, un Globo de Ouro e un premio da BAFTA, sendo un dos poucos intérpretes (o único canadense) que recibiu a chamada Triple Crown of Acting. Coa súa vitoria nos Óscar aos 82 anos por Beginners (2010), converteuse no intérprete de máis idade en gañar un Óscar. Pola súa candidatura por Todo o diñeiro do mundo con 88 anos tamén foi o actor máis vello candidato ao premio.^[3]
