This House Finch was perched on the lilac tree in our back yard a few weeks ago. Now I don’t see them at all since our homecoming. The weather has been so wet and cold. They must be struggling with the transition into winter weather, too. I have brought out my mitts and hats! Happy Wing Wednesday.

Abandoned house along SH1 just north of Kaikoura. Spotted this little beauty a few weekends ago and felt compelled to turn around and take an image. It just looked so lonely and dramatic against the backdrop of the snow-capped Kaikoura Ranges.

Bathing House at Howick, nice to get onto some different rocks for a change seeing the sea was calm there, as its normally wild and you just dont risk it.
We have had three House martin nests this year and these are the last ones to successfully fledge. They are at the stage where they leave the nest briefly and come back for a rest.
Nobody lives in that house - out in the snowy country somewhere in Nebraska. Photo taken on Saturday, February 20, 2021.
Coming across an abandoned old property makes me wonder. What was it that brought “This Old House” into disrepair. Who lived here? What were they like? What did this home look like when first built. Maybe I think to much. Thanks for viewing my work. Stay kind.

It was my first real birding hike with binoculars and camera in two years. I felt extremely blessed and grateful to be out and about again, mingling with fellow birders, joggers, hikers, dog walkers, bikers, etc. on a very pleasant day.
Jonathan and I went here yesterday in the hope of some snow left and there was...unfortunately we got delayed in heavy traffic and it was almost dark but the dogs had fun.
This is another case for old photos'. This exact shot is no longer possible because over the last 14 years the trees and hedges have grown and the winding house to the old Bestwood Pit can't be seen :(
