Penelope Clade is a character from the 2022 Disney animated feature film, Strange World. As a member of the Clades, she is the ex-wife of famed adventurer Jaeger Clade and the mother of Searcher Clade who retired from adventuring.

Personality[]
Not much is known about her personality, as she is only on-screen for a couple of seconds, but her statue in Avalonia depicts her with a wolf, implying that she may have been an animal tamer. This would fit in with her being just as adventurous as Jaeger. Based on the fact that she briefly became a farmer like Searcher implies that she was much more reasonable than Jaeger and more appreciative of Searcher's gifts. Despite being retired, Searcher explains that she "works out five days a week", indicating that she is very active. Penelope also seemed to be a warm-hearted and forgiving individual as she appeared happy to see her ex-husband for the first time in years and showed no animosity for being absent for a long period of time when he arrived to reconcile with her after realizing the errors of his lifestyle.
Physical appearance[]
Penelope is a 60-year old woman, though she has shown to have aged quite well, has blue eyes and long curly brownish hair that is already turning grey. Her usual clothing appears to be an orange Avalonian shirt with a bluish-green under shirt that extends out and a long pale-yellow skirt. She also wears large brown hoop earrings.
Role in the film[]
Penelope appears a year later after Avalonia is saved from Pando's destruction. She is greeted by her ex-husband, Jaeger who she appears happy to see before her second husband, Sheldon greets Jaeger with a hug. As a result, Penelope and Sheldon reconcile with Jaeger after being gone for twenty-five years.

- Penelope breaks the classic Disney trope of being a deceased parent and is simply off-screen for most of the film, living in retirement.
- Penelope currently does not have a voice actress.
- Searcher mentions that he is 40. Seeing as how Penelope is said to be 60, implies that she had Searcher when she was 20, though it's possible that Searcher was simply giving a rough estimation of his and Penelope's ages.
