Meridian Clade is a major character in Disney's 2022 animated feature film, Strange World. She is the wife of Searcher and Ethan's mother.

Personality[]
Meridian is a supportive, caring woman who serves as a bridge between her husband and her son when things get tense between them. While she loves her husband, Meridian does get annoyed when Searcher tends to step into their son's boundaries and argue with his own father. Her relationship with Ethan is also very loving as she accepted her son for he is and encouraged him to explore different paths upon seeing how amazed he was as they explored Avalonia's underground world.
In addition, Meridian possesses a sassy and sarcastic where she lovingly teased her son about his crush on Diazo and when he gets bothered if she and Searcher are showing affection to one another. She even teased Callisto Mal when the president ordered her to stop piloting the Venture, telling her to "make up her mind."
Plus, Meridian is a very open-minded person as she instantly believed her husband and son's claims of Avalonia being formed on the back of a giant turtle creature and how Pando was actually killing the creature, rather than the plant dying. Meridian was even willing to show the truth of the creatures' true nature and purpose to Callisto Mal despite her having locked up her and her family earlier where she helped the president see the truth herself in a nonviolent way.

Meridian is a black woman with her dark hair tied into a bun, and red lips. She sports a green vest with fur trim over a long-sleeved white shirt, beige combat trousers, and brown boots.

Meridian first appears entering the kitchen as her husband, Searcher cooks breakfast for her and their son, Ethan.
Once Upon a Studio[]
After the employees at the Walt Disney Animation Studios leave, Meridian and her family join all of the Disney characters to take a group photo to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Disney. Meridian and her family join in on the ensemble of singing "When You Wish Upon a Star" as the group photo is successfully taken.

- Her name Meridian, is a reference to geography. A meridian line is the circle that runs longitude at the longest point of the earth, a reference to her piloting abilities.
- Meridian shares some similarities to American female pilot, Amelia Earhart.
- Given that Searcher had a crush on another girl before meeting Meridian, it is possible Meridian may have been Searcher's second crush before they eventually got married.
