Ivan Banionis, or simply know as Ivan, is a Marvel Comics character who made his introduction in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the Disney+ series Hawkeye. He is a member of the Tracksuit Mafia, and is shown to be more trusted than others, as he was ordered by Kingpin and Kazi Kazimierczak to command a group of Tracksuits during the Battle of Rockefeller Center. During the battle, he was impaled by an arrow, leaving his fate unknown.
Ivan Banionis was created by Matt Fraction and David Aja.
Background[]
Ivan most likely was either a victim of the Snap or joined the Tracksuit Mafia after Ronin's massacre against them, as he was not at the meeting when most of their members were murdered. Since joining the Tracksuit Mafia, Ivan began working for Trust a Bro Moving Company, a cover organization to hide the mafia's illegal activities.
Physical appearance[]
Ivan is middle-aged man of Eastern European descent and speaks with a heavy accent. His hair is mostly gray and is cut short on the sides of his head, though it is longer on top. He also has a beard and a mustache, and mostly wears a tracksuit, being a member of the Tracksuit Mafia.

In December of 2024, Ivan, along with many other Tracksuit Mafia members, were tasked by Maya Lopez to steal a Rolex watch from a black market auction going on at the same time as a charity gala. Led by second-in-command Kazi Kazimierczak, the Tracksuits exploded a portion of the wall and were given ninety seconds to find the watch. While they were searching, a young woman by the name of Kate Bishop put on the suit belonging to Ronin, a masked vigilante who terrorized organized crime after the Snap, which also happened to be for sale that night. Kate began fighting off the Tracksuits, with one of her targets being Ivan. She eventually ran off with the members chasing her. After she had escaped, Ivan told Kazi they should retreat, as the sound of police sirens was getting closer. Later, it was discovered that they had in fact located the watch, making their mission a success.
Shortly after escaping, the Tracksuits, led by Ivan, were able to relocate Kate, where they surrounded her with their vans. She at first began to fight them, but after realizing she was outmatched, she desperately began to seek shelter in an unlocked car. She was able to find one, but multiple members began pounding on the car, including Ivan, after she locked it. By that time, however, Clint Barton, also known as Hawkeye and the original Ronin, saw news outlets reporting that Ronin could possibly be back, with images of Kate in the suit. After seeing this, Clint was able to locate the Tracksuits attacking Kate and forced them to retreat.
Later that night, Ivan and the Tracksuits were able to identify Kate as the one wearing the Ronin costume and began throwing Molotov cocktails at her apartment, to set it on fire and possibly kill her. Hawkeye, who was in the apartment at the time of the attack, was able to catch one of the cocktails and throw it back at them, which set two members of the mafia on fire on impact. Ivan and the other members began desperately trying to put the fire out, and during this, the owners of a restaurant named Herman's Hearty Slice began yelling at them, saying they were setting the whole neighborhood on fire. Ivan decided that all the noise was bringing unwanted attention to themselves, so they left.
Later that night, Ivan and the rest of the Tracksuits were able to easily locate and kidnap Hawkeye, though they did not know that he wanted to be captured.
Back at the Tracksuits' headquarters, Ivan began to interrogate Hawkeye, asking questions such as if Kate was Ronin. Hawkeye repeatedly denied any connection between Kate and the Ronin suit, though right after this Kate falls through the roof of the warehouse where their headquarters is located, confirming her connection to the suit. After this, Ivan heads up to the higher level of the warehouse and clumsily tries to tell Maya in sign language that they have captured them both. Maya, with the ability to read lips, tells him to exit.
While waiting for Maya, Ivan and the other members tied Kate's and Hawkeye's hands with duct tape on carousel animals, and began to mock them, entertaining themselves. Ivan quickly tired of this and asked another member named Dmitri if he wanted to play cards. After a while, Maya leaves her room and descends to the lower level, and begins interrogating Hawkeye and Kate, with the Kazi translating as Ivan watches.
Shortly after Maya's interrogation ends, Hawkeye is able to break out of his restraints and runs off, with Ivan and all of the other members except Kazi chasing him. Hawkeye is able to outrun them and frees Kate, where they run into the parking lot and steal a car. Ivan rides alongside Kazi in a Trust a Bro Moving Company truck as they pursue Hawkeye and Kate. Their truck is hit by multiple trick arrows by Kate, such as a putty arrow and a cable arrow. While on the Manhattan Bridge, Hawkeye shot an arrow which became a giant arrow after its exposure to Pym Particles, destroying the back of their truck. After this, all the members of the Tracksuit Mafia in vehicles exited them, including Ivan, and began shooting at them. All of their shots missed, and Hawkeye and Kate were able to escape on the top of a moving train.
Because Hawkeye and Kate now know the location of their headquarters, they were forced to move into a different location.
After this, Ivan was driving a Trust a Bro Moving Company with Tomas in the passenger seat when an arrow pierced the windshield with a note by Ronin asking Maya to meet him alone where they first met: Fat Man Auto Repair. Ivan and Tomas report the note to Maya.
That night, instead of going alone, Maya brings multiple members of the mafia with her, including Ivan, who held a gun. Before formally showing up, Ronin (a.k.a. Hawkeye), began silently ambushing members of the mafia and temporarily holding them hostage, with Ivan being one of his targets.
On Christmas Eve, one of the associates of the crime boss Kingpin named Eleanor Bishop (the mother of Kate Bishop), cut ties with him, and orders Kazi to assassinate her at her Christmas party. Ivan, being one of the more trusted Tracksuit Mafia members, was tasked to command a group of Tracksuits at the west exit of the Rockefeller Center, where the party was being held. After a while, Ivan decided to lead his group inside the building to pursue Eleanor, Hawkeye, and Kate. He then entrusted Tomas and most of his group to watch the exits. Ivan took a handful of men into the building, where they found Hawkeye and Kazi fighting, though part of the ceiling fell on them after the bombs placed by Hawkeye detonated.
Ivan, along with Kazi and another Tracksuit were able to find Hawkeye and Kate on an ice rink, though Hawkeye shot an arrow at them, with one of them impaling Ivan and causing him to fall to the ground. He is not seen for the rest of the series, leaving it unknown if he recovered from his injuries or died because of them.
