In December of 2024, a week before Christmas, Eleanor's daughter, Kate, came home from college, where she met Jack and Eleanor in their penthouse shortly before they left for a charity gala. Kate, confused by why there were many swords in their residence, asked Eleanor about it, but she responded by saying they would talk later at the gala which she insisted Kate go to.

Jack was present at the gala for a little bit after it started, though he eventually told Eleanor he would be right back. Kate, who after overhearing Jack's uncle named Armand Duquesne III threaten her mother, decided to follow him to the building's cellar, where a black market auction was taking place. She also spotted Jack present at the auction. Sitting next to his uncle, Jack engaged in a bidding war with him for a sword belonging to Ronin, a masked vigilante who mass-murdered people involved in organized crime after the Snap, though Jack wound up losing to Armand. Mere seconds after Armand won the sword, an explosion destroyed one of the walls, and masked figures in tracksuits began searching the room for an unidentified object. Jack was able to escape the blast uninjured, while also stealing Ronin's sword.

Later that night, Kate found Armand stabbed to death in his home by a sword, and Jack became her prime suspect due to his fascination with swords and because he would receive his inheritance. The next morning at work, she began to subtly interrogate Jack about Armand's death, though Eleanor (who was also present) changed the subject by asking Kate to come to dinner that night where Jack would be cooking risotto. She reluctantly agreed.

After they had finished the meal, Kate complimented Jack on his cooking and then began asking him about swords. Annoyed, Eleanor tried to change the subject, though she was stopped by Jack, with him saying a common interest would allow them to bond. After a brief discussion, the two agreed to fence, and Kate was able to beat Jack easily. Kate, thinking Jack was not showing his full skill in the sport, slashed her sword at Jack's face, which he parried. Kate tried to justify this by saying she knew he would do that, though Eleanor became annoyed with her, and Jack decided to change.

The following day, Kate and Hawkeye snuck into Eleanor's penthouse and went through files of members of a criminal organization named the Tracksuit Mafia. After hearing a noise, Hawkeye decided to explore the penthouse, but Jack, mistaking them for intruders, waited until Hawkeye reached him and then held him at sword point with Ronin's sword. The noise attracted Eleanor, who was in the kitchen, and Jack realized the person he held at sword point was Hawkeye.

After this, the four sat at a table, with Eleanor asking why they were sneaking around in the penthouse. Kate told her she and Hawkeye were working on a mission and that they had to sneak into the house to access the Bishop Security files. Soon after Hawkeye left, Eleanor told Kate she needed help setting up her Christmas party, and after that, Jack began to dance with Eleanor.

Kate later did further digging and found out that Jack was the CEO of a money laundering company involving the Tracksuit Mafia, which Eleanor soon found out and called the police on Jack. Jack didn't seem too bothered by this, saying that he was framed and would have done the same thing and that he would be back in time for her Christmas party.

The next day he was bailed out by the father of Armand Duquesne VII.

As promised, Jack attended Eleanor's Christmas party. After an assassin named Kazi Kazimierczak began firing at Eleanor, he drew his sword he brought to the party and prepared to fight.

After the Tracksuit Mafia began attacking Kate and Hawkeye, Jack helped, by slashing multiple Tracksuits with his sword. Soon after this, Kate and Hawkeye began evacuating the guests of the party, which included Jack, despite fighting on their side.

After the battle, he was approached by a police officer named Wendy Conrad who asked him if he wanted to join the NYC LARPers. Jack then eventually found out that Eleanor was the one who had murdered his uncle and framed him for money laundering and soon broke up with her.
