Ivan Banionis is a member of the Tracksuit Mafia.
Biography[]
Hunt for Ronin[]
Robbery of the Black Market Auction[]
- "Spread out. Let's go, go!"
- ―Ivan Banionis[src]
In December 2024, Banionis took part in a heist of a black market auction in a hotel cellar with the Tracksuit Mafia, led by Kazi Kazimierczak. The crew was primarily searching for a Rolex watch recovered from the Avengers Compound that was being sold at the auction, but stole a large value worth of other items from the auction at the same time. The heist was interrupted by a person in the Ronin suit that was also being sold at the auction. Banionis and the others believed them to be the same Ronin that massacred their crew and murdered their leader years prior.
Once "Ronin" managed to fight off most of the Mafia, they ran after the dog that had attacked Tomas and then ran away across a busy street. Banionis ran after Kazimierczak, who was pursuing "Ronin" and the dog. They had managed to cross the street, while the Mafia was blocked by the heavy traffic. Hearing police sirens, Banionis urged Kazimierczak to retreat.[1]
Ambush on Ronin[]
- "We got you now, bro."
- ―Ivan Banionis to Kate Bishop[src]
Banionis and the Tracksuit Mafia tracked down Kate Bishop a short while later. The crew surrounded her and she tried to fight them off. Banionis put Bishop in a chokehold, but she managed to escape using a hit to his groin. Bishop fled into a nearby unlocked car, locking the doors. As Banionis broke the driver's side window, he was suddenly knocked out by Clint Barton.[1]
Attack on Kate Bishop's Apartment[]
- "Hey, Kate Bishop!"
- ―Ivan Banionis to Kate Bishop[src]
Banionis and the rest of the Tracksuit Mafia tracked down Kate Bishop to her apartment, learning her identity from her name on the buzzer. Banionis yelled to get Bishop's attention, before he and the others threw two Molotov cocktails through her window, setting her apartment on fire.
The third Molotov cocktail, however, was caught by Clint Barton and thrown back at the Tracksuits, setting Tomas and two other Tracksuits on fire. As the Tracksuits focused on putting out the fires on themselves, the employees at Herman's Hearty Slice, located below the apartment, came outside to yell at them for the commotion. Banionis realized they were causing a lot of problems and that they should leave.[2]
Capture of Clint Barton and Kate Bishop[]
Later, Banionis and the Tracksuit Mafia found Clint Barton, who unbeknownst to them was intentionally trying to be captured, and loaded him into their van. They took Barton to their hideout, where Banionis pressed him for the location of Kate Bishop. Barton ignored the Tracksuits' questions, asking to speak to their boss. He freed himself of his restraints, prompting Banionis and the rest of the Tracksuits to pull their guns on him.
As Barton continued to deny any connection to Bishop, she suddenly crashed through the ceiling, dropping between Barton and the Mafia. While the others restrained Barton and Bishop, Banionis went to tell his boss, Maya Lopez, that they had managed to capture both Barton and Bishop.[2]
Throughout the early hours of the morning, Banionis entertained himself by forcing Barton and Bishop to ride the coin-operated kiddie rides they were restrained to, until he got bored and decided to play cards with Dmitri instead. As Bishop talked to Barton, Banionis got annoyed, telling her that she talked too much and threatened to rip out her throat. As he was doing so, Lopez finally came out, and Banionis and the others stood by as she and Kazi Kazimierczak interrogated Barton and Bishop.[3]
Clint Barton and Kate Bishop's Escape[]
- "Hawkeye, come out and play. Come out and play."
- ―Ivan Banionis to Clint Barton[src]
When Clint Barton managed to free himself from his restraints, Banionis and the rest of the Tracksuit Mafia pursued him through the hideout. Barton threw a stuffed animal at him before climbing on top of the gondolas that he let fall on the Tracksuits as he jumped across them.
Barton and Bishop escaped from the building, stealing a car from the parking lot. The Tracksuits split up into multiple vehicles in pursuit, with Banionis riding passenger in a vehicle with Kazi Kazimierczak. During the chase, Bishop shot a putty arrow at the windshield of their vehicle, obscuring their vision and causing them to slow down.
Just as they began to catch up while driving through Rosie's Christmas Trees, Bishop shot their vehicle with a cable arrow, which latched on to multiple Christmas trees in the vicinity and pulled them towards the truck, forcing the criminals to a stop. They almost caught up to Barton and Bishop again on the Manhattan Bridge, driving full speed in an attempt to crash into the archers, who had come to a stop due to traffic. However, a Pym Particle-enlarged arrow shot by Barton decimated the entire back half of their truck. All of the Tracksuits left their vehicles to pursue the two on foot.
They were shooting at Barton, who had run to Lopez's Challenger to retreive his plunger arrow. The Mafia stopped as Bishop threatened them with an arrow, while Barton back to her. She shot the arrow at Banionis, which just ricocheted off his chest instead of pentrating his body, as it was a USB arrow. The archers then jumped off the Bridge onto a train, leaving the Tracksuits to watch and then flee when they heard sirens.
Banionis and the Tracksuits returned to their hideout, which they decided they needed to abandon due to its existence now being known to Barton and Bishop. Banionis helped load their belongings into the Trust a Bro Moving Company trucks.[3]
Ambush at Fat Man Used Cars[]
Banionis was driving a moving truck to the Tracksuit Mafia's new hideout at Fat Man Used Cars, accompanied by Tomas. As Tomas listed off tracksuit-wearing pop culture figures that the Mafia resembled, Banionis stopped to ask if Tomas really thought they looked like the Royal Tenenbaums. Tomas insisted they did, and then changed the topic to his realization that no one used brass knuckles anymore. Banionis retorted with a comment about the inefficiency of the weapons.
As they pulled into the lot of their hideout, Banionis and Tomas were greeted with an arrow launched through their van's windshield. The arrow stayed lodged in the windshield, not injuring either of the Tracksuits, but a compartment in the arrow opened up to reveal a note. Banionis grabbed the note and read it out loud to Tomas, finding it to be a message for Maya Lopez from the Ronin to meet with him alone.
Banionis passed on the message to Lopez, but ignored the Ronin's demands that she be alone, as Banionis and multiple other members of the Tracksuit Mafia stood nearby with their weapons as they waited for the Ronin to arrive. Suddenly, Banionis heard Tomas' baseball bat fall to the ground, and noticed his ally behind him disappear, before he too was taken offguard by the Ronin, knocked over the hood of a car and rendered unconscious.[4]
Battle at Rockefeller Center[]
- "Red One in position. Tomas will watch exits. I will take team inside."
- ―Ivan Banionis to Kazi Kazimierczak[src]
Banionis took part in the attack on Eleanor Bishop orchestrated by Kazi Kazimierczak at the Bishop Christmas Party. Banionis led a team positioned at the west exits of the building. As the battle started and the Tracksuit Mafia realized that Clint Barton and Kate Bishop were also in attendance at the party, Banionis instead led his team into the building to pursue the targets, instructing Tomas and his team to watch the exits.
Banionis and his men made their way through the building, finding Kazimierczak and Barton engaged in a fight. They approached them to help Kazimierczak, but Barton detonated multiple remote bombs he had planted throughout the room, collapsing the ceiling on Banionis and his team.
Banionis, Kazimierczak, and one other Tracksuit later caught up to Barton and tried to engage him. As they approached him, Barton shot two arrows, using the second to split the first arrow in two. Half of the first arrow impaled Banionis in the right side of his chest, incapacitating him.[5]
