Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is the soundtrack album to the 2023 action adventure film of the same name, the fifth and final installment in the Indiana Jones film series. The album features the original score composed and conducted by John Williams, who has scored all the previous films in the franchise. The soundtrack was released by Walt Disney Records on June 29, 2023, a day before the film's release.
Background[]
The score incorporates themes and motifs from Williams' previous Indiana Jones scores, such as "The Raiders March", "Marion's Theme", "The Map Room: Dawn", and "Scherzo for Motorcycle and Orchestra". It also introduces new themes for the main characters and locations of the film, such as "Helena's Theme", "Renaldo's Theme", "The Dial of Destiny", and "The Temple of Time". The score was recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios in London, England, in March 2022. Williams also recorded a concert suite based on his score, titled "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny: A Musical Journey", which was performed by the Boston Pops Orchestra at Symphony Hall in Boston, Massachusetts, on May 18, 2023, as part of a special event celebrating Williams' career and his collaboration with director Steven Spielberg.
