Disney Favorite Stories were a line of home video releases from Walt Disney Home Video released from 1994 to 1996, similar to the Walt Disney Mini Classics line. A mini-comic storybook was included with each video.
Each video includes a Favorite Stories promo at the beginning, and the Favorite Stories intro, which uses a new rendition of the Mini-Classics logo jingle, though the logo is only present on the first six releases.
Mickey's Christmas Carol, the series' final release, inadvertently uses the 1992 Mini-Classics master on the tape, therefore including the Walt Disney Mini-Classics logo despite being packaged as a Favorite Stories title, it is also excluded from the series trailers.
In November 1996, Disney released a Laserdisc version of the series, which contains the contents of both Three Little Pigs and Paul Bunyan videos.
In the late 1990s, Blockbuster Video released a triple-length VHS of the Favorite Stories series, available exclusively as a rental in their stores, and featured Paul Bunyan on the cover. This videocassette contains the contents of the Paul Bunyan, Peter and the Wolf, and Legend of Sleepy Hollow videos. It is also considered to be the rarest of all the Favorite Stories releases, not being commercially sold in stores.
