THE LOOP — A Halal Guys restaurant has reopened under new ownership in the Loop, a spokesperson said. WICKER PARK — Vegan health food spot Graze opened its Wicker Park location this week, according to an Instagram post. Best known for its smoothies and bowls, the former Revival Food Hall stall announced plans to move into the former Scone City space last month. The Wicker Park baked goods shop closed in October. EVERGREEN PARK — Wisconsin-based chain Cousins Subs opens its sixth Chicagoland location in the suburbs today, according to a rep. In 2018, the company announced a plan to open 40 city and suburban locations over eight years. NAPERVILLE — Fast casual Mexican-Korean chain Seoul Taco opens in the suburbs today, according to a rep, making it the third Chicago-area location for the brand. FULTON MARKET — Time Out Market opened in late November, but on Friday it added a new restaurant. Arami Sushi Bar, one of the city’s best sushi restaurants, opened a location on the food hall’s mezzanine level. It takes over a space ticketed for Funkenhausen, as the West Town German-American restaurant pulled out of the project. It’s Arami owner Ty Fujimura’s second project inside Time Out. LOGAN SQUARE — George Liakopoulos continues to open diners around Chicago. Victory Grill is the latest from the owner of the Hat, Hollywood Grill, Griddle 24, Plymouth Restaurant, Tommy’s on Grand, and White Palace Grill. SOUTH SHORE — Local Market, a new grocery store and eatery from independent market chain Shop & Save, opened this week in the space left by the last Chicago Dominick’s when it shuttered six years ago, according to the Tribune. The couple hope to foster a friendly neighborhood atmosphere to go with smoked brisket, pork, chicken, and ribs, and a Nashville-style hot chicken sandwich. LINCOLN PARK — New comfort food spot Hops & Curds opened this month in the space that formerly housed De Quay, Chicago’s only Dutch-Indonesian restaurant, owners wrote on Facebook. LITTLE VILLAGE — Storied local pizza chain Home Run Inn opened a revamped version of its first location on Monday next door to the original 1947 site, according to a news release and Block Club. RAVENSWOOD — Dollop Coffee opened its 15th location yesterday with an increased selection of breakfast items such as bacon, eggs, breakfast burritos, smoothies, and more, Block Club reported. The new spot will also feature a walk-up window that connects to an outdoor patio, a component that excites CEO Dan Weiss, but the window will likely remain closed until spring. RIVER NORTH — Eataly Chicago opens its new restaurant Osteria Del Mercato today, according to a news release, replacing Il Pesce, Le Verdure, and La Piazza inside the Italian restaurant hall and retail haven. ROGERS PARK — Pan Asian spot Tai Chi Bubble Tea opened its first Chicago location last week, according to Block Club, with board games and music by request. Manager Jessie Lee told reporters that a second location is in the works, which may be on West Taylor Street in Little Italy. The brand currently operates four upstate New York shops. WASHINGTON PARK — The owners of Jamaican Gates on South Halsted Street opened a second Chicago location this month, they wrote in a Facebook post. LAKEVIEW — New American restaurant Port & Park is open in the space that previously housed SIP Southport & Irving, an employee confirmed in a phone call. RIVER NORTH — The second prong of Carlos Gaytán’s three projects is open in River North. Panango is a casual bakery with sandwiches, bread, and pastries from Gaytán’s native Mexico. EVANSTON — Philz Coffee, the Bay Area cult chain that seems to grow its Chicago footprint by the minute, opened another shop in suburban Evanston today. SCHAUMBURG — Wildly popular burger chain Shake Shack opened in suburban Schaumburg on Tuesday, according to the Daily Herald. Best known for hamburgers, crinkle-cut fries, and griddled hot dogs, the chain’s new location will offer wine and beers from local breweries including Revolution and Half Acre. FULTON MARKET — The team behind popular wine bar and cheese restaurant Pastoral opened a new venue, the Wine Bar at Pastoral, this week in the Chicago French Market. OAK PARK — Chicago-based cafe chain Fairgrounds Coffee & Tea has ventured into the suburbs with a new location in Oak Park.
