Stop Superbugs Grants Programme 2024 (closed)

With support from Baillie Gifford, BSAC’s global health initiative, Stop Superbugs, launched a small grant scheme to support grassroots projects in sub-Saharan Africa that combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Out of 16 eligible projects, 12 applications were received, and three were selected: Uganda’s Ubora Foundation, Zambia’s ReAct Africa, and Nigeria’s AMR Intervarsity Training Program, each focusing on education and community engagement. These projects will provide regular updates, culminating in a showcase during World AMR Awareness Week 2024. Unsuccessful applicants will receive guidance for future applications. The Stop Superbugs Network, launched in 2023, now supports 16 grassroots projects across nine countries, fostering collaboration and resource-sharing to combat AMR. See full details here.
