Tommie Williams is a former Republican member of the Georgia State Senate, representing District 19 from 1999 to 2017.
Williams did not seek re-election to the Georgia State Senate in 2016.
Williams served as Senate Majority Leader from 2005 to 2008 and as Senate President Pro Tempore from 2009 to 2012.
Biography
Williams earned his B.S. from the University of Georgia and his M.A. in education from Georgia Southern University. His professional experience includes working as a public school teacher, Deacon for the First Baptist Church of Vidalia, onion farmer and founding Georgia Pine Straw, Incorporated.

On November 4, 2008, Williams won re-election to the Georgia Senate from Georgia's 19th Senate district. Williams ran unopposed in the general election, and he received 39,766 votes.[12] Williams raised $333,609 for his campaign in 2008.[13]
