Muriel Hughes is a judge of the Michigan 3rd Circuit Court. She assumed office in 2006. Her current term ends on January 1, 2029.

Hughes ran for re-election for judge of the Michigan 3rd Circuit Court. She won in the general election on November 8, 2022.

Hughes received her B.A. from St. Mary's College, Notre Dame in 1980 and her J.D. from the University of Detroit Law School in 1983. Hughes began her career while in law school, working as a law clerk for 3rd Circuit Court Judge Thomas Brennan. She then joined the law firm of Hughes & Hughes P.C. in 1984, where she served as a litigation attorney and partner with a focus on probate, real estate, and general litigation. She held that position until her judicial appointment. In addition, from 1987 to 2006, she served as a Wayne County public administrator. She has also served as a mediator for the Mediation Tribunal Association and a case evaluator for the Wayne County Probate Court.[1]
