Lawrence McAdory (b. June 21, 1929) is a former Democratic member of the Alabama House of Representatives, representing District 56 from November 2009 to 2014. He was elected to serve the remainder of Priscilla Dunn's term after she was elected to the Alabama State Senate. He previously served in the House from 1994 to 1998.
Biography
McAdory earned his A.A., B.S., and M.A. from Alabama State University. He is a retired school principal, attendance supervisor and science teacher for Bessemer City Schools. He has also served in the United States Armed Forces and is the founder of McAdory Vault Company.

Elections for the Alabama House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on June 3, 2014; a runoff election took place where necessary on July 15, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 7, 2014. Louise Alexander defeated incumbent Lawrence McAdory in the Democratic primary. Darius Foster was unopposed in the Republican primary. Alexander then defeated Foster and Rickey Levins (I) in the general election.[1][2][3][4][5]

2010
McAdory won re-election to the 56th District seat in 2010. He and Claire B. Mitchell defeated David Vance and Melanie Bouyer in the primary, and McAdory defeated Mitchell in the primary runoff. He faced no opposition in the November 2 general election.[6][7]

On November 7, 2006, McAdory was elected to the 56th District Seat in the Alabama House of Representatives, defeating opponent Claire B. Mitchell (D) in the Democratic primary runoff election.[8]
