Ellen's life is deeply rooted in this community. She's the co-founder, former president, and current board member of the Haverford School District Education Foundation, executive director of the Young Entrepreneurs Academy, a program that assists students in starting their own businesses, and the co-founder of the Women's Business Enterprise Center. Ellen is the founder of the Women's Yellow Pages, an award-winning resource of women-owned businesses. She was twice named to the White House Conference on Small Business. Among many accolades, she was named by the PA Department of Community and Economic Development as one of PA's Best 50 Women in Business, recognized by the Philadelphia Business Journal as a "Woman of Distinction" and received the region's US Small Business Administration Women in Business Champion of the Year Award. In short, Ellen has been recognized locally and nationally as a champion of education and small business-two issues of upmost importance to Pennsylvanians. Ellen has lived in the district almost her entire life. Indeed, she lives in the same home she grew up in. She graduated from Haverford High, just as her and her husband's children did. Upon graduation from Penn State, she returned home to launch her own successful business.

  • This is the time for experienced, wise moderation, not empty extremism from either party.
  • As an activist, small business owner, community volunteer and Executive Director of the Young Entrepreneurs Academy, I know the priorities of the community.
  • A voice in the majority caucus will do more for the district. The people of our district will have a voice and muscle to get things done for the first time in decades.

1. GET ECONOMY UP and RUNNING AGAIN. It is essential to help stabilize employers so our small businesses, manufacturers and entrepreneurs can maintain and create good-paying jobs. We need to partner with job creators to grow our economy.

2. ADVOCATE FOR EDUCATION. Ensure that our schools are safe, funded and locally controlled. Good schools make our communities better.

3. REBUILD INFRASTRUCTURE. Now is the time to repair roads and bridges as well as update the state's technology.
