Creigh Deeds (Democratic Party) is a member of the Virginia State Senate, representing District 11. He assumed office on January 10, 2024. His current term ends on January 12, 2028.
Deeds (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the Virginia State Senate to represent District 11. He won in the general election on November 7, 2023.
Deeds served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 1992 to 2001.
Biography
Deeds received a B.A. at Concord College in 1980 and a J.D. at Wake Forest University School of Law in 1984. Deeds' career experience includes working as an attorney.

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 26, 2015.[1] Incumbent Creigh Deeds was unopposed in the Democratic primary. No Republican candidates filed for election. Deeds was unchallenged in the general election.[2]

Noteworthy events
2013
On November 19, 2013, Deeds' son, Gus, stabbed his father before dying of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Deeds was hospitalized in critical condition. Police stated they were investigating the circumstances surrounding the situation but were not looking for any suspects. Deeds recovered from his wounds and returned to the legislature.[6]
