Charles D. Susano, Jr. was a former a judge on the Tennessee Court of Appeals. He was appointed to the court by Governor Ned McWherter (D) in March 1994 and was retained the following August.[1] Susano was then retained in 1998, 2006, and 2014.[2] He retired on April 30, 2020.[3]
Susano held his position as state appellate judge for 25 years, setting a record as the longest-serving Tennessee Court of Appeals judge.[4]
Susano passed away in May 2022.[5]
Education
Susano received his Ph.B. accounting degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1958. He then served in the U.S. Army until 1960. He received his J.D. degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 1963.[2]

Susano was retained to the Tennessee Court of Appeals with 62.5% of the vote on August 7, 2014.[7][8]
Retention recommendation
Judge Susano was recommended for retention to the Tennessee Court of Appeals by the Tennessee Judicial Performance Evaluation Commission.[9][6]
